All Drives
typically $80.56/TB
+0.9% · no clear change since 3 Oct, 15:00 UTC, when it was first recorded
from $2.00/TB
Typically the median Buy It Now price per TB now, shipping included: half the listings cost less. The same figure as the home page.
Change how the like-for-like price moved over the window. It prices the same kinds of listing every time (type, interface, size and condition), so a batch of cheap or dear listings arriving or leaving moves it far less than the median. When a batch still steps it, the step is not counted as a price move.
Real rise, real fall said only when the change is bigger than the no-change zone, how far the price can wander from measurement noise alone; inside it, "no clear change". "Catalogue batch" means the step was our catalogue refreshing a batch of listings, not prices moving.
Line the like-for-like price over the window, from where it began, on the scale every tile shares.

Price per TB by size, now
- typical now
- price only
- best size, mostly SAS
Dots each size's typical (median) price per TB now. Sizes evenly across in order, price on a log scale.
Best size the large dot: the lowest typical price per TB among sizes with enough comparable listings (thirty or more, with varied prices). Another size takes over only after staying clearly cheaper for two hours, so it does not flip on noise.
Hollow best most of its listings are SAS drives, which need a SAS controller.
Grey dots price only: too few comparable listings to tell a trend.
Sizes in order, not to scale; price on a log scale.
Every size prices per TB now, and the like-for-like change since first recorded
Change that size's like-for-like change over the window: an arrow and the figure is a real move; a grey figure is no clear change.
Too few, unclear "too few": too few comparable listings for a trend; "unclear": too few or too varied to tell a trend from noise. The typical price and the count still show. "Too early": not enough readings yet for a change.
Every fifteen minutes sizes with plenty of varied listings get a trend from every reading.
Six-hour steps thinner sizes are measured as six-hour averages, so their change shows from the twelve-hour window - a dash before then.

How to read this
- "Typically" is the median Buy It Now price per TB now - half the listings cost less - the same figure as the home page; "from" is the cheapest.
- The lines and every change use a like-for-like price. Listings are sorted into fixed kinds (type, interface, size and condition), each kind is priced by the middle half of its listings, and the kinds are weighted by the last week's counts, set afresh each UTC day. Because it prices the same kinds every time, a batch of cheap or dear listings arriving or leaving moves it far less than the median; prices moving within the kinds move it fully. When a batch still steps it, the step is marked and is not counted as a price move. Up is dearer and down is cheaper, shown by the arrow and the sign as well as the colour.
- Each chart has one no-change zone, a faint band between two fine lines: how far the line can wander from measurement noise alone. A change inside it reads "no clear change"; beyond it, "a real rise" or "a real fall". On the 4- and 12-hour windows it comes from how precisely each reading is measured for the first week, which can make it narrow, and after that from how far the line has moved over the same span in the past week. From 3 days it is set wide on purpose for the first four weeks, then narrowed from a month of daily prices.
- The dashed line is the cheaper end, the same kinds priced by the cheaper part of their listings. It is shown for comparison and gets no verdict.
- A hollow point had fewer comparable listings than usual; a gap had too few to draw, and is never bridged. ◆ marks where our catalogue refreshed a batch of listings: that step is our harvest, not prices.
- Asking prices hardly move within hours. Read any point of a chart - the last day, the high, the low - by pointing at it, dragging a finger along it or with the arrow keys. From 15 days of readings the 7-, 15- and 30-day charts add how much the price typically moves a day, measured on daily closing prices with the bounce-back that is noise taken out. Every time on the page is UTC.
- All Drives is every kind together, weighted by the last week's counts, so a shift in the mix moves it far less than the median; under "Which moved most" it is drawn apart, below the others.
- By size: each dot is a size's typical price per TB now, in order, on a log scale - dots, never joined, as a line between sizes would suggest prices nobody sells. Sizes with plenty of varied listings get a trend every 15 minutes, thinner ones in 6-hour steps, and the rest show their price only (grey). The best size is the cheapest with enough comparable listings and changes only after a rival stays clearly cheaper for 2 hours; it is flagged when its listings are mostly SAS drives, which need a SAS controller. Every size with a price is listed; the chart leaves out hard drives and SAS under 500 GB and flash under 100 GB.
